Family Class Sponsorships
Family Class Sponsorship allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to bring their spouse, children, parents, or grandparents to live permanently in Canada.
Citizens and permanent residents of Canada who are at least 18 years old may be able to sponsor certain relatives to immigrate under the Family Class, however, financial support to those being sponsored is required.
A Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident can sponsor Spouses and common-law partners, Children, and Parents and Grandparents to become permanent residents in Canada. For parents and grandparents, the system has recently changed, and interested persons are placed in a pool and invited to apply. There is also the Super Visa program, by which a multiple entry visa valid for up to 10 years can be obtained.
